Winter is magical.

And I am ready for it.

I think it is good that i live here in Texas, USA because I either am in the mood for summer or winter, and thats pretty much all we get. No in between. Seriously, one day it's stifling hot, and then the next-- before you know it, everyones jittering in their socks because we're just all so dang cold.

Hmm... maybe... Texans are just used to it being incredibly hot and humid, so any kind of gust of a cold front, and we think we're freezing.

So let me rephrase everything I said above.

I'm ready for the TEXAS version of winter. Cute sweaters from Gap, scarves of all colors being scattered amongst all retail has to offer, that crisp, dry, brisk feeling you get when you walk outside, frozen dew on my windshield, always hoping for the slightest flutter of snow, Christmas colors flitting across every catalogue you pick up, not to mention the dreamy lights and greenery hung from the ceilings of every mall... THAT is the winter I'm ready for. The one I've grown up with from the day I was born all the way up until today, July 29th 2008. I want my Texan "winter."

Not quite the Texas winter, but its the feeling I want:-)

I am called

I have found myself saying the phrase "I'm just sick of it" quite often as of late. Talking about a myriad of things, all of which I really, truly am sick of. I'm not down on myself or feeling sad, I really am just tired of so much... stuff! It becomes so clear to me that my soul was not made to be a part of this world, or to blend in whatsoever. Every day I walk through all the muck around me and feel like I am water trying to make nice with oil. It just won't work. I am a puzzle piece not made for this puzzle. I'm glad I don't fit in. I'm glad something in me twinges when I see, hear or am around sin. I'm glad it feels foreign-- because it is.

I am a follower of Christ. Being active in the body of Christ is so necessary. No division, no walls, no tearing down. What would we be without our fellow believers in the body all walking the same way as us, arms linked, pursuing the same goal? We would be a single person walking against the entirety of humanity- one person pushing against crowds of millions.

I think we need to guard our words and our hearts against the poisen Satan offers us. Its so easy to let it slither into conversation.

Somewhere...

Way up high.

I like.

Did some surfing last night, stumbled upon a world of art called Fashion Illustration. I love how it is very delicate and feminine, yet edgy and funky at the same time. I also like how very not American it looks.

Here is some work by an artist called "Coco."

See her site and the rest of her work here.

I wish I could pop lock.

It's true. I wish I could pop lock. I wish I could be one of those people that could blow your mind with my sweet, jerky moves to the beat of the coolest tune you've ever heard!

But, alas, I remain just a wisher- busting the moves only in my mind, to keep from frightening the very souls of people who might be onlookers to my scary rendition of the art of pop locking.

Kind of interesting. Knowing that there is something that I will never.... I repeat, NEVER... be able to do. Haha.
